Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Career Counselor located in Chandigarh. The Career Counselor will provide career counseling and development services to students, guiding them through the process of selecting and applying to educational institutions. Daily tasks include conducting student assessments, offering career advice, managing student cases, and maintaining communication with students, parents, and educational institutions.

Responsibilities

1. Conduct one-on-one career counselling sessions with students to understand their goals, interests, and academic backgrounds.
2. Provide tailored guidance on overseas education opportunities, country selection, course selection, and university options with a focus on client enrolment and conversion.
3. Explain admission processes, documentation requirements, scholarships, and timelines for various countries and institutions.
4. Assist students in shortlisting programs based on their academic performance, budget, and future career aspirations.
5. Conduct psychometric tests or aptitude assessments where applicable to support informed decision-making.
6. Offer life-skill development sessions such as goal-setting, time management, and confidence building for students.
7. Maintain regular contact with assigned students and parents throughout their application journey.
8. Build and nurture strong relationships with partner schools across Chandigarh through regular visits and follow-ups.
9. Represent the organization during school outreach visits, career fairs, workshops, and information sessions.
10. Travel periodically to partner schools in nearby cities for events, seminars, and relationship management.
11. Coordinate with the applications team to ensure smooth handover and follow-through post counselling.
12. Keep detailed records of student interactions, counselling notes, and application progress using CRM tools.
13. Stay updated on international education trends, visa updates, and institutional changes.
14. Support the planning and execution of student seminars, webinars, and orientation events.
15. Contribute to the creation of counselling content such as brochures, FAQs, and student resources.
16. Act as a liaison between students and university representatives during visits, events, or virtual meets.
17. Work collaboratively with the outreach and marketing team to maximize school engagement outcomes.
18. Provide feedback on student preferences, trends, and challenges to improve program development and outreach.
19. Meet counselling and conversion targets set by the management on a monthly and quarterly basis.
20. Ensure a professional, empathetic, and ethical approach in all counselling interactions to uphold the organization’s values.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience in the overseas education consultancy sector is a plus

This role requires frequent local travel within Chandigarh and occasional travel to partner schools in other cities. As an in-office profile, there is no work-from-home provision. A high level of commitment, professionalism, and adaptability to travel schedules is expected.
