Book Designer (Print & Digital) - Internship

✨ About the Project

I’m an independent author with a completed manuscript, looking to publish a visually engaging book. This includes designing the layout for both print and digital (e-book) formats. The book combines clear structure, thoughtful typography, and beautiful presentation—something that feels professional, inviting, and emotionally resonant.

This is a great opportunity for a creative graduate student who wants real-world experience designing a full-length publication and adding it to their portfolio.

🎨 What You’ll Do

• Design and format the interior layout of the manuscript for print (PDF) and digital (ePub/Kindle)
• Create a visually appealing and professional book cover (front, back, spine)
• Ensure typographic hierarchy, alignment, and white space are well-executed
• Export print-ready and e-book files with correct formats, margins, bleed, and resolution
• Collaborate with the author for creative feedback and iterations
• Optional: Assist with basic illustration or visual elements if interested

🛠️ Tools & Skills We’re Looking For

• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign or Affinity Publisher
• Understanding of book layout design, typography, and readability
• Bonus: Experience with ePub, Kindle formats, or Figma/Web tools for digital versions
• Familiarity with exporting for print (bleeds, CMYK, resolution)
• Eye for detail and good visual storytelling
• Strong communication and ability to take creative feedback
