They may also assist with welding processes, cleanup, and transportation of materials. Cleaning and smoothing welds: This helps ensure the final product is of high quality. Preparing materials and work areas for welding: This involves cleaning, grinding, and ensuring materials are properly aligned for welding. Operating tools and equipment: This may include hand tools, power tools, and basic welding equipment. Material Preparation: Preparing materials for welding by cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal pieces, ensuring they meet project requirements. Workspace Management: Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including setting up and dismantling welding equipment, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Equipment Assistance: Assisting with the setup, operation, and maintenance of welding equipment and tools, including transportation and storage. Welding Assistance: Holding and positioning workpieces during welding, providing support to the welder, and ensuring proper alignment. Quality Control: Performing basic checks on welds and finished products to identify any issues or defects.
