Sr Design Engg for HPDC dies

Savitri Automation - India is a mechanical or industrial engineering company based in the Pune/Pimpri-Chinchwad Area. We specialize in designing and manufacturing high-pressure die-casting (HPDC) dies for various industries. Our company is located at Plot No. B-12, H BLOCK, M.I.D.C, PIMPRI , Pune, Maharashtra, India.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Design Engineer for HPDC dies. The Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing HPDC dies using computer-aided design UG NX CAD software . They will collaborate with the mechanical engineering teams to ensure the functionality and reliability of the designs. The Senior Design Engineer will also work on product design and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Tooling Design: Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for foundry tooling, including patterns, cores, and gating systems, using Siemens NX

• Design Optimization: Apply principles of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) to enhance tooling efficiency and reduce production costs.

• Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure tooling designs meet functional and quality requirements

• Simulation & Analysis: Conduct simulations and analyses to validate tooling designs, identifying potential issues and implementing corrective actions.

• Documentation: Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and maintenance guidelines.

• Continuous Improvement: Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tooling performance and reduce lead times

Qualifications

• Strong background in Design Engineering and Mechanical Engineering
• Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design UG NX CAD software
• Experience in HPDC die design and development
• Understanding of product design principles and processes
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
