Role :

The Sr. Control Panel Design Engineer plays a critical role in the design, development, and execution of PLC/SCADA control systems. This position requires an experienced professional with 6-8 years of hands-on experience in design engineering to ensure that control panel designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and industry best practices. The engineer will also work closely with project teams to provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop control panel layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams for PLC, SCADA, and automation systems.
• Create detailed technical documentation, including BOMs (Bill of Materials), cable schedules, and terminal plans.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards (IEC, UL, etc.) and client specifications.
• Provide technical support during manufacturing, assembly, and testing of control panels.
• Review and validate designs to ensure safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Coordinate with the project team, clients, and vendors to clarify design requirements.
• Assist in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and support the commissioning team when needed.
• Identify and implement design improvements to optimize performance and reduce costs.
• Mentor and guide junior design engineers in control panel design practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• 6-8 years of experience in design engineering, specializing in PLC/SCADA control systems.
• Proficient in design tools like AutoCAD, EPLAN, and other relevant CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of control system components (PLC, HMI, VFDs, relays, contactors, etc.).
• Experience in control panel manufacturing processes and electrical safety standards.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
