Senior Research Associate

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct original and collaborative research in the areas of climate change and energy transition.
• Analyze climate policy, energy systems, emissions scenarios, and transition pathways using qualitative and/or quantitative methods.
• Contribute to peer-reviewed publications, technical reports, and policy briefs.
• Support proposal writing for competitive research funding.
• Engage with stakeholders including government agencies, NGOs, and industry partners.
• Present research findings at academic conferences, stakeholder meetings, and public forums.
• Supervise and mentor junior researchers and graduate students where appropriate.

Required Qualifications

• A PhD in Climate Science, Energy Policy, Environmental Studies, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven research experience in one or more of the following: energy modeling, climate policy analysis, systems transition, renewable energy technologies, or emissions mitigation.
• Strong analytical and writing skills, with a record of peer-reviewed publications.
• Experience with relevant tools or platforms (e.g., IAMs, GIS, energy models, climate databases).
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience in policy engagement or consultancy work.
• Familiarity with international climate frameworks (e.g., UNFCCC, IPCC).
• Understanding of just transition, energy equity, or climate justice issues.
• Experience working with large datasets or spatial analysis.
