Job Title: Project Manager, Structural Steel Division Location: Vadodara, GJ, India Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to lead our Structural Steel Division. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of structural steel projects from conception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Coordinate fabrication and erection activities executed by contractors. Prepare and monitor daily and monthly work fronts and daily/weekly progress reports. Ensure all connection bolts are tightened as specified, including torque values for truss cover plate splices. Verify and certify contractor bill of quantities for all mechanical work. Conduct line checks, punch listing/killing, hydro tests, and release for box-up. Technical Expertise & Quality Control: Review construction drawings and release them for approval and execution, including TEC sheets. Study engineering drawings and coordinate with designers for modifications, MOC jobs, and capacity enhancement projects. Ensure all welds conform to specified standards (e.g., 6mm continuous fillet, IS813-1986, IS816-1969, IS9595-1996, and AWS D1.1M). Verify bolt grades and specifications and ensure proper tightening torque values. Manage material inspections and certification reviews. Implement NDT Level 2 procedures. Team Leadership & Coordination: Lead and motivate a team of structural supervisors, fabricators, and engineers. Coordinate with various departments (e.g., Purchase team for PR and PO generation). Conduct daily and weekly progress meetings with contractors. Control site supervisors, foremen, and the workforce in day-to-day activities. Financial Management: Review and update monthly CAPEX project reports, sending them to HO with WBS wise breakdown. Initiate new CAPEX WBS in the system and upload to SAP. Check monthly RA bills of contractors and perform SAP entry. Generate Material Requisitions (MR) for material issuance and conduct final reconciliation of projects. Safety & Compliance: Handle project execution and commissioning with all safety aspects. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., IS 12843 for erection tolerances, IS 7215 for fabrication tolerances). Qualifications: Education: Diploma or Graduation in Mechanical Engineering. Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in structural steel fabrication and erection, with significant experience in a project management role. Technical Skills: Proficiency in reviewing construction drawings and engineering designs. Strong knowledge of welding processes (SAW, SMAW, GTAW, GMAW) and related codes (ASME Section IX). Familiarity with NDT methods and Level 2 certification. Experience with project management software (e.g., MS-Office, REIMS, SPMS). Understanding of bolt tightening standards and torque values. Knowledge of Indian Standards (IS) for steel structures (e.g., IS 2062-2011, IS 6649-1985, IS 800-2007). Managerial Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage project teams effectively.
