Modular Furniture Design Consultant

As a Design Consultant in the modular furniture industry, your primary responsibility will be to assist customers in visualizing and customizing modular furniture solutions that cater to their specific needs, space constraints, and aesthetic preferences. You will engage in client consultations, both in-person and virtually, to understand their lifestyle and functional requirements, as well as present personalized furniture solutions and mood boards tailored to their preferences. Utilizing design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, or proprietary tools, you will create modular furniture layouts and provide accurate design proposals, quotations, and material specifications. Your ability to adapt designs based on client feedback and feasibility constraints will be crucial in delivering high-quality solutions. In addition to design tasks, you will be involved in project coordination, working closely with production and installation teams to ensure the integrity of designs throughout execution. Collaboration with sales and logistics teams will be necessary to facilitate timely project delivery, along with ensuring thorough documentation and obtaining customer approvals. To support the sales process, you will leverage your product knowledge and technical design insights to upsell and cross-sell relevant modules, finishes, and accessories. Meeting monthly/quarterly sales targets and ensuring customer satisfaction will be key performance indicators in this role. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of company product offerings and industry trends is essential, as you will participate in design reviews and provide valuable customer feedback to R&D teams. Your qualifications should include a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, or a related field, along with at least 2-5 years of experience in furniture design, modular systems, or interior design. Proficiency in 2D/3D design software, as well as the MS Office Suite, is required, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills. A customer-first mindset with meticulous attention to detail will set you up for success in this role. Experience with modular furniture brands or interior fit-out companies, knowledge of materials, ergonomics, and modular joinery systems, and familiarity with CRM systems and sales processes are preferred qualifications. Key competencies for this position include creative problem-solving, spatial awareness, visual communication, project/time management, team collaboration, and sales acumen. This is a full-time position based in Surat, Gujarat, requiring the ability to commute or plan for relocation before starting work.
