Designation: Mechanical Foreman

Location: Abu Dhabi

A Mechanical Foreman in the oil & gas industry supervises and coordinates mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation activities for plant equipment and facilities, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role is critical for managing teams of technicians, planning maintenance schedules, and troubleshooting mechanical issues in demanding industrial environments.

Typical Job Description and Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate activities of mechanical technicians and fitters; delegate tasks and monitor team performance.28
• Maintenance and Repairs: Plan, execute, and oversee preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance for a variety of rotating and stationary equipment (e.g., compressors, pumps, turbines, engines, gas generators).679
• Installation: Manage the mechanical installation and commissioning of new equipment; ensure proper alignment, mounting, and testing.5
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical faults, assess equipment conditions, and lead repairs or parts replacement.26
• Safety and Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety standards (permit-to-work, isolation procedures, tool box talks, JSA), quality guidelines, and company policies.24
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections, using computer-based systems where required.58
• Resource Planning: Arrange materials, spare parts, tools, and manpower required for jobs; ensure optimal allocation and utilization.5
• Training and Mentorship: Provide hands-on training and mentoring to junior staff; ensure competency development.4
• Reporting: Report mechanical failures, incidents, and near-miss events to supervisors or engineers; recommend improvements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹150,000.00 - ₹180,000.00 per month
