Overview

Banyantree School is seeking a dynamic and well-organized Librarian to manage and enhance the school’s library resources and promote a culture of reading and research among students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library.
Organize, catalogue, and maintain the library’s collection of books, periodicals, digital resources, and reference materials.
Assist students and teachers in locating and using resources effectively.
Foster a love for reading through book clubs, reading programs, and displays.
Teach students how to use library systems and reference tools for academic research.
Develop and enforce library policies and ensure a quiet and respectful environment.
Coordinate with academic departments to support curriculum needs through library resources.
Maintain records of issued and returned materials and manage overdue items.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Library Science (B.Lib / M.Lib) or equivalent.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a school or academic library preferred.
Familiarity with library management software (e.g., Libsys or KOHA).
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Passion for literature and student engagement.
