Lead - Java Developer

Our client, a leading financial technology partner, seeks a Lead - Backend Developer (Java) who can architect and build scalable systems, mentor junior engineers, and drive performance in production-grade environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Backend Architecture & Development:

Design, develop, and optimise high-availability distributed systems using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.

• System Performance & Scalability:

Build robust backend platforms capable of handling millions of secure transactions with minimal latency.

• DevOps & Infrastructure:

Implement and manage containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).

• Messaging & Event Streaming:

Ensure seamless message handling and event-driven architectures with Kafka or RabbitMQ.

• Database Management:

Optimize relational and non-relational databases, including Oracle, MySQL, and MongoDB, for performance and reliability.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with product managers, frontend developers, and QA teams using Git, JIRA, and Confluence.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 6–9 years of backend development experience
• Background in Fintech, Payments, or Telecom is a strong advantage
• Proven ability to mentor and guide junior engineers
• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on, team-first approach
