Job Description : Medical Coder Location : MAGJ Hospital, Mookkannoor Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and certified Medical Coder to accurately assign diagnostic and procedural codes to patient health records using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS classification systems. The medical coder will play a key role in ensuring correct billing, insurance reimbursement, and compliance with healthcare regulations. Key Responsibilities: Review and analyze medical records and documentation for completeness and accuracy. Assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on physician documentation and medical reports. Ensure codes meet all federal, state, legal, and insurance regulations. Work with physicians and healthcare providers to clarify diagnosis or obtain additional information when needed. Submit coded claims to insurance companies and follow up on unpaid or denied claims. Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and insurance rules. Assist in audits, quality assurance reviews, and compliance checks. Protect patient confidentiality by following HIPAA and data privacy regulations.
