Pharmacy Assistant

Job Summary: The Pharmacy Assistant supports licensed pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medications, inventory management, and administrative tasks. This role ensures the smooth operation of the pharmacy while maintaining high standards of accuracy, hygiene, and patient safety. Key Responsibilities: Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications accurately to inpatients, outpatients, and departments. Receive and verify prescriptions; check dosage, instructions, and availability of stock. Label, pack, and organize medicines as per prescriptions and hospital protocols. Maintain stock levels by monitoring inventories, placing orders, and restocking shelves. Check expiry dates regularly and remove expired or near-expiry drugs according to policy. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the pharmacy area as per infection control guidelines. Assist in preparing monthly and daily reports of medicine usage, indents, and stock updates. Ensure all medications are stored correctly (e.g., temperature-controlled storage for cold-chain drugs). Attend to patients and staff courteously, resolving basic queries under supervision. Comply with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Support during audits, inspections, and inventory verification.
