We are looking for an experienced Head Chef with 10 to 14 years of expertise in Indian cuisine to lead our culinary team at our Lonavala branch. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who thrives in a dynamic kitchen environment and is passionate about delivering an exceptional dining experience through authentic, flavorful Indian dishes.

As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring high standards in food quality and hygiene, and managing the kitchen staff to achieve excellence. You will also play a key role in menu development, cost control, and maintaining an efficient workflow.

Job Description:

The Head Chef will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of culinary standards, driving innovation in Indian cuisine, and leading the kitchen staff. You will ensure that every dish reflects authenticity, quality, and creativity, while also ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Menu Creation & Development: Curate, design, and innovate seasonal and special menus inspired by the diverse flavors of Indian cuisine, reflecting both traditional and modern approaches.
  • Team Management & Leadership: Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff. Foster a positive work environment, ensuring high team morale, productivity, and personal growth.
  • Kitchen Operations Oversight: Manage daily kitchen operations, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards and served in a timely manner.
  • Quality Control: Monitor all aspects of food preparation, from ingredients to final presentation, ensuring that dishes are consistently of high quality.
  • Cost Control & Inventory Management: Maintain strict control over food costs, inventory, and waste management. Ensure efficient stock rotation and manage vendor relationships.
  • Hygiene & Safety Standards: Ensure the kitchen operates in compliance with health and safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Training & Development: Conduct regular training sessions on food preparation, kitchen safety, and new cooking techniques for the kitchen team.
  • Collaboration with Management: Work closely with restaurant management to align the culinary offerings with the restaurant's goals, brand, and customer preferences.
  • Customer Engagement: Occasionally engage with guests, gathering feedback on dishes and the overall dining experience to make necessary adjustments.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience: 10 to 14 years of experience in the culinary field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in Indian cuisine.
  • Culinary Expertise: Deep knowledge and expertise in traditional and modern Indian cooking techniques, regional flavors, and dishes.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and inspire a team while managing performance.
  • Creativity: Ability to innovate and create new dishes that maintain authenticity while introducing unique flavors and presentation styles.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage time efficiently, multitask, and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail in terms of food quality, presentation, and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Food Safety & Sanitation: Comprehensive knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
