Job Description

Position: Field Officer-FPO

Job Summary:

The Field Officer will work directly with farmers and help in day-to-day activities of the Farmer Producer Company (FPO). They will support farmers in joining the FPO, help sell their produce at better prices, and make sure the company runs smoothly. The Field Officer is the main link between farmers, the FPO team, and buyers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Farmer Mobilization & Support

• Mobilize farmers to join the FPO.
• Collect shares, maintain records, and organize regular meetings.
• Support the FPO board member and team in decision-making.

2. Business & Market Activities

• Help in collecting crops from farmers and selling to buyers.
• Find good markets and buyers for the produce.
• Support activities like sorting, grading, packaging, and value addition.
• Assist in value addition and branding activities.

3. Training & Awareness

• Organize training for farmers on farming techniques, marketing, and business.
• Help farmers learn how to run the FPO properly.
• Arrange exposure visits to successful FPOs or market yards.

4. Field Monitoring & Reporting

• Keep daily records of activities in the village/FPO.
• Submit regular reports and updates to the supervisor.
• Share any problems or suggestions from the field.
• Take attendance during meetings/training and keep photo records.
• Help with MIS (Management Information System) data entry, if required.

5. Community & Team Support

• Encourage women and small farmers to join the FPO.
• Support visits, events, and any other FPO-related work in the field.

6. Convergence with Government Schemes

• Identify relevant government schemes for agriculture, FPOs, and rural livelihoods.
• Coordinate with Agriculture Department, Horticulture, NABARD, and other line departments.
• Share scheme information and eligibility with farmers during meetings.
• Maintain record of benefits availed by members through government linkages.
