Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop 2D and 3D technical drawings for modular furniture and fittings using tools like

  AutoCAD, SketchUp, SolidWorks, Cabinet Vision

  , or other relevant software.
• Create detailed production drawings, material specifications, and cutting lists.
• Prepare accurate

  BOQs/BOMs

  and assist in cost estimations based on design inputs.
• Coordinate with sales, production, and installation teams to ensure design feasibility and execution.
• Interpret customer/site requirements into functional design solutions.
• Suggest value engineering ideas to optimize material and hardware usage.
• Maintain version control and proper documentation for all design files and client approvals.
• Stay updated with latest industry trends, materials, and hardware fittings.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial/Product Design, or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of experience in

  modular furniture design, interior fittings, or architectural product design

  .
• Strong proficiency in at least one or more of the following:

  AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, SolidWorks, Cabinet Vision, or ERP-based design tools

  .
• Good understanding of hardware fittings, modular construction, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong visualisation and spatial planning skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple projects at once.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with architects, interior designers, or on-site execution teams.
• Exposure to estimation software and ERP integration in design workflows.
• Knowledge of various furniture materials, edge banding, laminates, and joinery techniques.
