Customer Service Specialist RDC

We at D.B. Group America are looking for a Customer Service Specialist to join our RDC team based in Mumbai, supporting Ocean Import operations for the U.S. region.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end import shipments, ensuring clear communication and coordination with internal teams, overseas offices, and clients to facilitate smooth and timely execution.

Job Responsibilities:

• Handle day-to-day ocean import operations for the U.S. trade lane
• Communicate effectively with origin offices, carriers, and internal teams
• Coordinate shipment milestones, documentation, and issue resolution
• Update and maintain shipment details in internal systems
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer and internal queries
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and client-specific requirements
• Support billing and documentation accuracy, ensuring timely handovers
• Assist in process improvement initiatives within the RDC team

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics preferred (Ocean Imports experience is a plus)
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal in English)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
• Willingness to work late shifts aligned with U.S. operations
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook) and freight-related systems
• Team player with a problem-solving mindset

Preferred:

• Prior experience supporting U.S. operations from an shared service set up.
• Understanding of shipping documentation like B/L, ISF, Arrival Notices, etc.
• Hands-on experience with CargoWise
• Graduate degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
