Chef de Partie (CDP)

Department: Kitchen

Reports to: Sous Chef / Head Chef

Location: [Munnar, Chithirapuram powerhouse. Kerala 685565.]

Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

We are Seeking for a responsible chef de partie for running a specific section of the kitchen. As a key team member, the CDP ensures that dishes are prepared and presented to the highest standards in a timely manner. This role requires culinary skill, efficiency, and leadership to guide junior staff and ensure a smooth kitchen operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a designated section (e.g., grill, pastry, sauce) of the kitchen.
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes within your specialty to high standards.
  • Ensure portion control and minimize waste.
  • Supervise and train Commis Chefs and other junior staff.
  • Maintain hygiene, health, and safety standards in the kitchen.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, appearance, and quality of food.
  • Monitor stock and notify Sous Chef or Head Chef when ingredients are low.
  • Contribute ideas for menu development and specials.
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications as set by the Head Chef.
  • Work with other chefs to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service.
  • Uphold cleanliness of workstations and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Culinary diploma, Hotel Management, MBA In Hotel Management or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards (e.g., HACCP).
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Team player with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for food.

Preferred Skills:

  • Time management and organization.
  • Creativity and a flair for plating.
  • Ability to adapt to different sections if needed.
  • Knowledge of international cuisines (if applicable).

Working Conditions:

  • Physically demanding (standing for long periods, lifting heavy pots/pans).
  • Work includes weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
  • Fast-paced kitchen environment.

Salary: 28,000 to 31,000
