Job Description: Associate Fashion Designer (Sportswear/Techwear)

About the Role: We are looking for a highly motivated and creative associate Fashion Designer to join our team. This position will play a key role in the development of our travel apparel line, with a focus on sportswear and techwear. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth research, identifying user pain points and market gaps, and translating these insights into innovative design solutions.

Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough research on fashion trends, sportswear/techwear innovations, and competitor analysis.

Identify user needs, pain points, and market gaps related to travel apparel.

Develop design concepts for new apparel items, focusing on functionality, comfort, and style.

Translate design concepts into detailed technical specifications (tech packs) for production.

Collaborate with the design team on mood boards, color palettes, and material selections.

Oversee prototype development and ensure quality control throughout the production process.

Stay up-to-date with sustainable and ethical fashion practices.

Participate in fittings and provide constructive feedback.

Work closely with product development, merchandising, and production teams.

Contribute to the overall brand aesthetic and ensure design consistency.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field.

Proven experience in sportswear or techwear design, with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant work.

Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough research and identify market gaps.

Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc).

Understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, and fabric selection.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience: 1-2 years

Bonus Points: Familiarity with 3D design software. Knowledge of technical fabrics and their applications. Passion for travel and an understanding of the needs of travellers.
