Job Description: Benaka Gold Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Advocate to lead and manage all legal affairs of the organization. This pivotal role requires a dynamic professional with a strong background in corporate law, litigation, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and contract management. The ideal candidate will serve as a strategic legal advisor to the leadership team, ensuring the company operates within the law while advancing its commercial interests Key Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Corporate Legal Advisory · Provide strategic legal counsel to the Board of Directors and senior management. · Ensure the company complies with corporate laws, financial regulations, and business statutes. · Oversee legal structuring for new business ventures, acquisitions, and expansion plans. 2. Litigation & Dispute Resolution · Represent Benaka Gold in court proceedings, arbitrations, and legal negotiations. · Draft and respond to legal notices, consumer complaints, and summons. · Manage relationships with external counsel and ensure alignment with company interests. 3.Regulatory & Statutory Compliance · Ensure compliance with industry regulations (BIS, SEBI, RBI, Hallmarking norms, etc.). · Act as the liaison with regulatory bodies and government authorities. · Stay abreast of legislative changes and recommend proactive measures. 4. Contract & Commercial Law · Draft, review, and negotiate contracts including vendor agreements, leases, NDAs, MOUs, and franchise contracts. · Mitigate legal and commercial risks through effective contract management and enforcement. · Maintain a centralized repository of all company legal agreements and contracts. 5. Intellectual Property & Brand Protection · Oversee registration and protection of trademarks, designs, and proprietary materials. · Manage legal actions related to IP infringements or counterfeit products. · Create awareness of IP rights across departments to strengthen brand protection. 6. Risk Management & Legal Governance · Identify legal risks across operations and recommend risk mitigation strategies. · Establish and maintain internal legal policies and ethical standards. · Lead internal legal audits and support external audits. Qualifications & Skills: 1) Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) is mandatory; Master’s degree (LL.M.) preferred. 2) Minimum 3–12 years of relevant legal experience in corporate, litigation, and compliance roles. 3) Excellent knowledge of Indian corporate law, gold/jewelry industry regulations, and intellectual property rights. 4) Strong analytical thinking, negotiation, and communication skills. 5) Ability to handle high-pressure legal matters with discretion and professionalism. 6) Kannada language preferred.
