1st Class Boiler Operator - Mysore

Key Responsibilities:

• Boiler Operation:

• Operating and monitoring high-pressure boilers (including CFBC/AFBC/WHRB types) and associated equipment like feedwater pumps and air pre-heaters. 

• Monitoring and Maintenance:

• Ensuring optimal steam pressure, temperature, and flow, conducting routine checks and logs, and performing start-up, shut-down, and emergency procedures. 

• Water Treatment:

• Maintaining proper water quality, including pH levels, and performing blowdowns when necessary. 

• Safety Compliance:

• Adhering to all safety regulations, including those related to the Boiler Act and Factories Act, and participating in safety drills. 

• Fuel Management:

• Monitoring and maintaining fuel feeding systems to ensure continuous and efficient combustion. 

• Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

• Assisting with preventive and breakdown maintenance, identifying and resolving operational issues, and communicating with other teams (e.g., control room, maintenance). 

• Record Keeping:

• Maintaining accurate logbooks, reports, and communication with other relevant personnel. 

Additional Responsibilities (May Vary):

• Firefighting:

• Personnel may be required to have skills in firefighting and be ready to respond to fire emergencies. 

• Supervision:

• In some cases, 1st class boiler operators may supervise other personnel, such as assistant boiler tenders or mechanics. 

• Training:

• They may also be involved in training other staff on boiler operations and safety procedures. 

• Specific Equipment:

• Depending on the facility, they may be responsible for operating other related equipment, such as HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generation), DM/RO plants, and fuel handling systems. 

Qualifications and Experience:

• Education:

• Typically requires an ITI or Diploma in Mechanical or Metallurgy. 

• Experience:

• A minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a boiler operator is generally required. 

• Certifications:

• Possessing a Boiler operation certificate from a recognized institution is often a requirement.
