Job Description

As an Electrical Installation & Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for executing electrical installation of industrial heaters, control panels, temperature controllers, and power supply units on site. This involves reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings to ensure that the installation meets industrial electrical codes, standards, and client specifications. In addition, you will carry out pre-commissioning checks and full commissioning of industrial heater systems. During the installation and commissioning phases, you will troubleshoot and resolve electrical and control system issues, and perform system testing including continuity tests, insulation resistance tests, and functional testing of heaters and control systems. Your role will also involve project coordination by liaising with mechanical, civil, and instrumentation teams for smooth site operations. You will collaborate with client site engineers, contractors, and internal project managers, reporting daily progress and site challenges to the Project Manager. Ensuring compliance with electrical safety protocols and company health & safety policies will be paramount. You will be responsible for preparing and maintaining site documentation such as Installation Checklists, Test Reports, and As-Built Drawings. Following Permit-to-Work systems and participating in safety briefings and toolbox talks will also be part of your responsibilities. If applicable, you may provide maintenance support by conducting preventive and breakdown maintenance for installed heater systems post-commissioning. This may involve offering troubleshooting support remotely or on-site for after-sales service. Qualifications & Skills: Education: - Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Experience: - 2-5 years of site experience in industrial electrical installation. - Prior experience with industrial heaters, thermal systems, or high-power electrical equipment is preferred. Technical Skills: - Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, wiring practices, and protection devices. - Understanding of temperature control systems, PLC basics, and instrumentation (preferred). - Ability to read technical drawings and electrical schematics. - Familiarity with national and international electrical standards (e.g., IS, IEC). Soft Skills: - Good communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work under pressure in challenging site conditions. - Willingness to travel to project sites for extended durations.
