Solarwinds Engineer

Responsibilities:

• 
  Implement Enterprise operations Console.

• 
  Develop the console for single pane of glass.

• 
  Customize enterprise-wide maps and view topology, connectivity, and performance with Orion Maps

• Build out BU, DC, area specific health dashboards.

• 
  Build out Infra health dashboard.

• 
  Customizable enterprise-wide reporting for monthly, quarterly, and or yearly operational reviews

• 
  Asset Inventory of networking gear

• 
  Report for assets in scope for all CVE scores 7 or higher

• 
  Report for EOL HW

• 
  Report for EOS SW

• 
  Report that queries Network device types that are not on proper client advocated code.

• 
  Report for current vulnerabilities or bugs in scope

Assess the current Deployment.

• 
  Make sure we have implemented NPM, NCM, NTA, IPAM, and APE with best practice.

• 
  Upgrade versions and Hotfix as needed.

• 
  Research Service Now interoperability

• 
  Assess and or redesign our HA or DR solution.

• 
  Recommend Feature improvements we are not utilising and the benefits from them.

NCM refinement

• 
  Need to manual tweak EOL/EOS for specific manufacture, model, makes, versions we have.

• 
  SOP on how to install latest NCM hotfix to get close to real time CVE or as close to real time since CVEs are published daily?

• 
  Some deceives when polled don’t give back proper SW versions.

• 
  Load balancing polling to display VIP, Pools and Nodes connection detail.

• 
  Backup reports

SolarWinds Integrations with other tools

• 
  Investigate SNOW module for SolarWinds to sync assets from CMDB

• 
  Other tool integration which GIS may be interested in.

Qualifications:

• 
  Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or other related discipline required.

• 
  Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in SolarWinds

• 
  Certification in SolarWinds is preferred.

• 
  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
