SENIOR SCHOOL LIBRARIAN

The Senior School Librarian will manage the school library services for VI to XII, supporting academic programs and promoting a reading culture. The librarian will ensure access to a diverse collection of resources aligned with CBSE curriculum and foster students’ information literacy skills through innovative library programs.

Key Responsibilities Areas:-

Library Management

• Manage and maintain all library operations including cataloging, classification, and circulation of books and resources.
• Organize library resources: print, digital, and multimedia to meet the academic needs of middle and senior school students.
• Ensure the library environment is welcoming, safe, and conducive to study and reading.

Academic Collaboration

• Work closely with teachers to identify resource needs aligned with the CBSE syllabus from Grade 6 to 12.
• Support curriculum delivery by providing relevant reference materials, e-books, journals, and digital tools.
• Conduct orientation sessions to familiarize students and staff with library resources and research techniques.

Student Engagement & Development

• Encourage independent reading and research through book clubs, competitions, storytelling sessions, and workshops.
• Teach students how to effectively search for, evaluate, and use information ethically.
• Promote digital literacy and guide students on the ethical use of online resources.

Collection Development

• Evaluate and recommend books, journals, e-resources, and other materials that align with CBSE curriculum and students’ interests.
• Keep the library collection current by regularly updating and weeding outdated materials.
• Liaise with publishers and vendors for procurement and subscriptions.

Administration & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of library usage, acquisitions, and inventory.
• Prepare and manage the library budget.
• Supervise library assistants and coordinate student helpers if available.
• Generate reports for school management on library activities and student engagement.

Qualifications & Experience:-

• Master’s & Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science (Master’s degree preferred).
• Proven experience managing a school library, preferably in a CBSE school environment.
• Familiarity with digital library systems and e-learning platforms.
• Understanding of CBSE curriculum and pedagogical approaches for VI - XII.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
