Senior Pre-Sales Engineer Experience: 5-8 Years
Job brief
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Pre-Sales Engineer with expertise in structured cabling and passive networking solutions . The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing technical solutions, Bill of Quantities (BOQ) , and Bill of Materials (BOM) in Excel, coordinating with the purchase team for pricing and availability, and interfacing with clients to ensure alignment of solutions with requirements. This role requires a strong technical background and excellent client communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand client requirements and provide technically sound solutions for structured cabling , racks , patch panels , fiber/copper installations , and related passive networking infrastructure.
- Prepare detailed BOQ and BOM in Excel based on site surveys, RFPs, and design drawings.
- Create and review scope of work documents , technical specifications , and design layouts .
- Collaborate closely with the sales team during the bidding/proposal process to ensure competitive and compliant solutions.
- Coordinate with the purchase/procurement team to get updated pricing, product availability, and lead times.
- Attend client meetings to explain proposed solutions and address technical queries.
- Assist in the preparation of techno-commercial proposals and tender submissions .
- Conduct site visits when required for requirement gathering or solution validation.
- Maintain updated product knowledge on passive networking components and industry standards (e.g., EIA/TIA, ISO/IEC).
- Support post-sale handover to the implementation/project team with complete technical documentation.
Key Skills & Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in Electronics / Telecommunication / IT or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Pre-Sales/Design for Structured Cabling & Passive Networking.
- Excellent knowledge of network infrastructure , cabling standards , fiber optics , and related components.
- Proficient in Excel for BOM/BOQ preparation and basic documentation.
- Familiarity with CAD or Visio for layout drawings is a plus.
- Strong coordination and communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, RFPs, and SLDs (Single Line Diagrams).
- Experience working with OEMs like Molex, CommScope, Legrand, D-Link, etc. is desirable.
Education Qualification:
- Bachelor s Degree in Electronics , Telecommunications , Electrical Engineering , Computer Science , or a related field from a recognized university or institution.
- Diploma holders in related disciplines with strong experience in structured cabling may also be considered.
