Job Description for Senior Accountant & General Ledger SME

Job Title: Senior Accountant / General Ledger SME

Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant / GL Reporting Analyst will be responsible for managingkey aspects of the general ledger and supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close andreporting activities. This hybrid role combines core accounting functions with financial analysis andreporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in U.S. GAAP, hands-on experience with ERPsystems, and the ability to analyze financial data to support strategic decision-making.

Roles and Responsibilities
1. General Ledger Accounting:

\uF0B7 Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries related to accruals, prepaids, allocations, andother GL activities.
\uF0B7 Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
\uF0B7 Lead or support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes in accordance withclosing schedules.
\uF0B7 Ensure compliance with internal controls, company accounting policies, and U.S. GAAP.

2. Financial Reporting & Analysis:

\uF0B7 Assist in the preparation of internal financial statements, reporting packages, and varianceanalyses.
\uF0B7 Analyze GL data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
\uF0B7 Collaborate with FP&A and other finance teams to align reporting and forecasting.
\uF0B7 Support audit processes by preparing workpapers, reconciliations, and responding to inquiries.

3. Process Improvement & Projects:

\uF0B7 Identify and implement improvements to streamline GL and reporting processes.
\uF0B7 Assist with system upgrades, automation initiatives, and cross-functional projects.
\uF0B7 Maintain and improve reporting templates and documentation standards.

Qualifications:

\uF0B7 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting or Finance.
\uF0B7 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in general accounting, GL, or financial reporting.
\uF0B7 Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial close procedures.
\uF0B7 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or Workday).
\uF0B7 Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
\uF0B7 Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Preferred

\uF0B7 Chartered Accountancy or progress toward Chartered Accountancy designation.
\uF0B7 Experience in a large corporate, retail, services or multi-entity environment.
\uF0B7 Exposure to financial statement preparation and audit support.
