Receptionist in hospital

Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Receptionist to join our hospital’s front office team. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, you will play a critical role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring efficient front desk operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and capable of handling a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist patients, visitors, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner
• Schedule and confirm appointments using hospital scheduling software
• Answer and direct phone calls, taking messages when necessary
• Verify patient information and process necessary paperwork
• Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records and comply with HIPAA regulations
• Manage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
• Maintain a clean, organized reception area
• Assist with administrative tasks as needed

• Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting (preferred)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and patient management systems
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
• Knowledge of medical terminology (a plus)
