Product Safety Engineer 4 - System Safety

Primary Responsibilities: Performs safety risk assessments on equipment, assembly and component designs to comply with SEMI Guidelines, UL Standards, CE and other industry standards. Having proficiency in the SEMI2 , UL and CE standards. Ensures changes and upgrades of the equipment continue to meet safety guidelines and standards, and generate necessary safety notices & bulletins Reviews Engineering Changes and Problem Reports from safety standpoint to recommend preventive actions for safety hazards Collaborates with India and US-based Mechanical, Electrical and Product Engineers for safety and design changes Works with cross functional team and peers across the globe to select, test, implement and roll-out important design processes and BKMs Supports SEMI and other 3 rd party safety evaluation Leads & supports the design reviews and have ability to signoff designs from safety aspects Develops test procedures to evaluate component safety per safety guidelines Eligibility Criteria: Years of Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience and up to 12 years in product safety or Industrial Safety Educational qualification: Bachelor / Master s in Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical/Industrial / Industrial Safety Engineering Mandatory Skills required to performing the job: Proficient in equipment and personnel safety requirements to evaluate: Structural, vacuum and pressure loads, ergonomic, thermal, flammability, service, component layout/spacing, gas cabinet containment/exhaust, labeling, manuals/procedures, electrical/interlocks, hoists/lifts, chemistry and other considerations Experience with capital equipment or similar industry in the role of systems safety Engineer, for e.g., chemical process, medical instrumentation, automotive, aircraft, etc. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a track record of success in cross functional, multi-national work environment. Demonstrated leadership skill in decision making and problem solving in absence of complete or accurate data. Knowledge in read and understand the Electrical Schematics, Interconnects, System Layouts, Mechanical drawings, Plumbing and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID s), Service and Maintenance procedures Knowledge in Safety testing methods (Electrical testing/Industrial Hygienic/Ergonomic evaluation) Desirable Skills: Experience in semiconductor industry Knowledge of SEMI, UL or equivalent safety standards Proficient with Microsoft Office applications Experience in working with cross-disciplinary teams (including mechanical, electro-mechanical, software, process, manufacturing engineers) for major projects.
