Job Description

As the Operations Engineer at Syniverse, you will provide technical solutions to exceptionally difficult problems. Your role will involve addressing day-to-day customer issues, application problems, and concerns that are detailed and complex, requiring thorough analysis and research. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, operating, and evolving common infrastructure such as the network, servers, and external services like the cloud. You will be expected to provide escalated technical support for complex issues, lead problem management cases, and coordinate support cases with internal technical resources and third-party vendors. Through root cause analysis, you will identify, analyze, and resolve assigned tickets to determine appropriate solutions. Monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all production server hardware and software will also be part of your responsibilities. Your role will involve participating in the ticket review process, analyzing metrics, and taking action based on feedback received from customers. Continuous monitoring of production servers and application health, along with error research and performance benchmarking, will be essential tasks to ensure operational efficiency. To be successful in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics, telecommunication, or equivalent work experience. Additionally, you should have at least 2 years of relevant professional experience in application support, technical customer support, problem management, relational databases, and programming languages. Certification in operating systems and databases is preferred, with Oracle certifications such as OCP, OCA, and SQL Server Certified Engineer being advantageous. Exceptional customer service skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical clients, are crucial for this role. Strong analytical, multitasking, and communication skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with testing and troubleshooting techniques are also important attributes.
