Job Title: Medical Representative (Fresher) – Field Work
Job Summary
As a Medical Representative, you will act as a key link between the pharmaceutical company and healthcare professionals. Your primary responsibility is to promote and educate HCPs about the company’s products, drive sales, and build strong relationships in the assigned territory. This entry-level role involves extensive fieldwork, requiring excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Promotion:
• Present and promote pharmaceutical/healthcare products to doctors, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate HCPs on product features, benefits, and usage based on approved scientific data.
2. Fieldwork and Territory Management:
• Visit hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies within the assigned territory to meet HCPs.
• Plan and execute daily/weekly schedules to cover all target customers effectively.
• Monitor competitor activities and market trends in the assigned area.
3. Sales and Target Achievement:
• Achieve monthly/quarterly sales targets set by the company.
• Generate demand for products by convincing HCPs to prescribe or recommend them.
• Coordinate with distributors and stockists to ensure product availability.
4. Relationship Building:
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with HCPs and key opinion leaders (KOLs).
• Address queries and provide after-sales support to customers.
5. Reporting and Documentation:
• Submit daily/weekly reports on visits, sales, and feedback to the Area Sales Manager.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions, prescriptions, and market insights.
6. Compliance and Training:
• Adhere to the company’s code of conduct, ethical guidelines, and regulatory standards (e.g., MCI guidelines in India).
• Attend training programs to gain in-depth knowledge of products and sales techniques.
Qualifications and Skills
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm), Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or any graduate degree (B.Sc., B.Com, etc.). Some companies may accept Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm).
• Experience: No prior experience required (freshers encouraged to apply).
• Skills:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceuticals (preferred but not mandatory).
• Persuasive selling and negotiation skills.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
