Lead Application Engineer - Drill Bits

As a Lead Application Engineer for Drill Bits at Baker Hughes, you will play a crucial role in ensuring flawless execution of projects through pre-planning, job execution, and post-job analysis. Your responsibilities will include delivering technical job programs or application designs that align with the contract terms and conditions and maximize the opportunity to meet job objectives. You will collaborate closely with Service Delivery Coordinators and other resources across organizational boundaries to ensure a comprehensive understanding of all aspects and constraints of the applications. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the Job Cycle process, working with clients to understand their objectives and commercial terms, performing engineering modeling calculations, designing job programs, and mitigating risks to meet client objectives. Additionally, you will provide on-demand support for job execution, document project cycles for visibility and audit purposes, analyze job outcomes, and develop recommendations for continuous improvement. To be successful in this role, you should have a bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of experience in drill bit application engineering. Strong leadership, interpersonal, planning, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work in a global matrix organization. You must be willing to be on call outside of normal business hours and travel to rig sites, customer facilities, meetings, and training as needed.
