Qualification: Bachelor s degree in Physical Education or Sports Science (preferred).
Certification from Hockey India or recognized coaching body (Level 1 or above).
Sports Achievement: Former professional, national, or state-level Player is highly preferred.
Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Hockey coaching experience and as a competitive player. Experience working with children or youth programs is desirable.
Plan, organize, and conduct structured Hockey training sessions for various age groups and skill levels at Somaiya schools, colleges, university and academy- student-athletes.
Teach essential skills including dribbling, passing, shooting, defensive techniques, and game strategies. Conduct fitness drills and work on agility, speed, and endurance specific to Hockey. Identify potential talent and nurture athletes for advanced coaching and competitive levels. Design individualized training plans to address strengths and weaknesses. Conduct courses, track and evaluate player progress through regular assessments. Prepare teams for inter-school, inter-college, and district/state-level tournaments. Manage match day logistics, warm-ups, team selection, and tactical instructions. Accompany teams to external matches and provide on-field coaching support. Assist in organizing intra-academy tournaments, skill camps, and workshops. Collaborate with sports science and medical teams for athlete conditioning and injury prevention. Maintain training schedules, attendance records, and progress reports. Ensure proper use and maintenance of Hockey equipment and training grounds. Coordinate with the facilities team to keep the turf and infrastructure in optimal condition.
