Green Building Engineer/Architect

As a Green Building Engineer / Architect at our company in Chennai, you will play a crucial role in supporting the execution of green building certification processes including IGBC, LEED, GRIHA, EDGE, among others. This position is ideal for entry-level professionals who are passionate about sustainable design and green buildings. You will receive structured training and guidance to excel in this role. Your responsibilities will include collecting, verifying, and organizing architectural, MEP, and vendor documentation necessary for compliance with various sustainability credits related to energy, water, indoor air quality, daylight, waste, and materials. You will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining calculation sheets for rainwater harvesting, ventilation, daylight factor, lighting power density, and other relevant sustainability metrics. Additionally, you will develop and update area statements, credit trackers, and documentation files in accordance with rating system requirements. Collaborating with architectural consultants, MEP teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders to gather essential inputs and ensure documentation completeness will be a key part of your role. You will support site-based activities such as environmental measurements, photography, and record-keeping. Staying updated on relevant code changes and rating system updates and communicating their implications for ongoing projects will also be part of your responsibilities. To excel in this role, you should have a B.Arch/M.Arch/B.E/M.E in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, or Architecture. While 2 years of professional experience is preferred, internships will also be considered. A basic understanding of green building and sustainability principles such as passive design, energy and water efficiency, and indoor environmental quality is required. Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and a basic ability to read CAD drawings are essential for this position. Software knowledge in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) is required to perform your duties effectively.
