Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Commercial Strategy & Business Development:

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with company goals and market trends.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in domestic and international freight forwarding.
  • Lead negotiations for major contracts, pricing, and service agreements.

2. Sales & Customer Relationship Management:

  • Drive sales growth through team leadership, target setting, and performance monitoring.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Oversee account management and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

3. Pricing & Contract Management:

  • Develop competitive pricing models and optimize freight rates based on market conditions and cost structures.
  • Manage contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance and renegotiations when necessary.
  • Collaborate with legal and finance teams for contract reviews and approvals.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with operations, logistics, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Coordinate with finance for budgeting, forecasting, and commercial reporting.
  • Partner with marketing to develop promotional campaigns and brand positioning.

5. Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the commercial team to achieve sales targets and professional growth.
  • Establish KPIs, conduct performance appraisals, and implement training programs.

6. Market Intelligence & Reporting:

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes affecting freight forwarding.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

  • Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience:

  • 10+ years in commercial roles within freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation, with at least 5 years in senior management.
  • Proven track record in sales, business development, and contract negotiations.
  • Skills:

  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Understanding of freight forwarding operations and global trade regulations
  • Proficiency in CRM and ERP software
  • Leadership and team-building expertise
