Job Summary

The Employee Relations Manager is responsible for maintaining positive employee relations at the factory. The primary duties are union management which will involve collective bargaining, discipline and grievances management, managing litigations under various Labour laws.

Improving existing practices to ensure high & positive internal employee experience would be key to the role.

Key roles and responsibilities

Employee Relations & Social Fundamentals

Social Dialogue:

• Implement Danone Social Dialogue fundamentals at Lalru Factory
• Regular connect with employees, people managers and plant leadership team to understand areas of opportunities and way forward
• Participate in collective bargaining process, signing long term settlements with employee’s union
• Manage Union matters and related grievances, demands, expectations
• Co-ordinate with legal consultants on case-to-case basis and guidance
• Maintain positive employee relations

Legal & Compliance:

• Liasioning with local Labour authorities to comply with statutory requirements
• Manage litigations and compliance under various Labour laws
• Keep up to date on the latest updates in Labour laws like wage code bill etc.
• Responsible for Human Rights Due diligence policy and program at Lalru factory
• Ensure the compliance of contact Labour act

Discipline Management:

• Investigate and take appropriate actions- issue show cause notices & charge sheets, termination letters etc.- for noncompliance or disciplinary issues based on investigation reports
• Manage disciplinary issues in the line of business and address employee grievances
• Coach and advise line managers to enable them with strategies of discipline management
• Prepare and participate in domestic inquiries and labour court hearings as and when required

Job Specifications

Education & Experience:

Post Graduate Degree in HR/Labour Relations with 7 to 10 years relevant work experience.

Degree in Law is desirable
