Design Engineer - Solar

You will be responsible for designing power plant packages for individual PV projects, which include creating drawings, specifications, and calculations needed for obtaining construction permits and supporting construction activities. Additionally, you will assist in scoping and providing support for DC collection systems and participate in commissioning and energization tasks, including managing the startup process of local contractors" plants. Your role will involve system performance modeling, drawing standards, key component specifications, sizing calculations, bills of materials, and other necessary tasks to ensure that Mecpower Solutions" design package meets quality, presentation standards, and cost-effectiveness requirements. You will lead project design efforts and optimize designs by leveraging your knowledge of PV module and inverter specifications, tracking and fixed-tilt array designs, low and high voltage DC components, and sizing methods to meet specifications, cost, efficiency, code compliance, performance, and reliability standards. Requirements for this position include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, at least two years of professional experience in PV/Renewable Energy project design, proficiency with AutoCAD and SketchUp software packages, and prior experience in managing teams and resources to deliver turn-key projects on time and within budget. You should possess strong engineering, design, and communication skills and demonstrate the ability to work in a dynamic team environment, think creatively, and solve problems effectively. You must have in-depth knowledge of photovoltaic and power system components, sizing methods, safety features, grounding, disconnects, SCADA, system testing, and troubleshooting. Project management experience with a track record of handling multiple projects under tight deadlines is essential. Being self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and maintaining professional integrity are key attributes for this role. Effective written and verbal communication skills are necessary for interactions with internal and external stakeholders.,
