Responsibilities of IT Recruiters 1. Requirement Gathering Collaborate with hiring managers or clients to understand job requirements. Clarify technical skills, experience levels, certifications, and soft skills needed. Create or refine job descriptions. 2. Sourcing Candidates Use job boards (e.g., LinkedIn, Indeed, Dice), social media, and internal databases. Perform headhunting and direct outreach to passive candidates. Leverage employee referrals or networking groups. 3. Screening and Interviewing Review resumes for technical and cultural fit. Conduct initial screening calls to assess: Communication skills Technical qualifications Availability and salary expectations Schedule and coordinate interviews with technical panels or hiring managers. 4. Technical Evaluation Coordination Facilitate technical assessments (online tests, coding challenges). Coordinate interviews with technical teams or subject matter experts. Sometimes conduct basic technical evaluations if trained. 5. Candidate Management Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the hiring process. Provide feedback and manage expectations. Help prepare candidates for interviews. 6. Client/Manager Coordination Serve as a liaison between hiring managers and candidates. Present shortlisted candidates with detailed summaries. Provide market insights and hiring recommendations. 7. Offer Management & Negotiation Extend job offers and negotiate compensation packages. Handle counteroffers and guide candidates through resignation and onboarding. 8. Onboarding & Post-Placement Follow-up Coordinate onboarding documents and pre-employment checks. Follow up after placement to ensure satisfaction and retention. Additional Duties in Staffing Agencies Maintain a candidate pipeline for future needs. Hit placement targets and performance KPIs. Build and manage client relationships. Keep up with industry trends and tech skills in demand.
