Job Summary Netgear is looking for an experienced and customer-driven Systems Engineer to support our rapidly growing ProAV over IP business. This role is dedicated to enabling AV integrators, consultants, and end-users in deploying high-performance, reliable AV networks built on Netgear’s AV Line of switches and related technologies. The ideal candidate combines deep networking expertise with a solid understanding of AV systems and workflows, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle—from concept and design through deployment and post-installation support. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer AV requirements and deliver pre-sales technical support, solution design, and architecture for AV-over-IP environments. Provide network design services specifically optimized for multicast AV traffic, including IGMP, VLAN segmentation, QoS, and bandwidth planning. Conduct product demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and system validations both virtually and on-site. Engage with AV integrators and consultants to guide network best practices and ensure successful installation and configuration of Netgear switches and other Netgear infrastructure. Present technical topics to both AV and IT audiences, including training sessions for channel partners, design reviews, and customer enablement. Assist in RFIs/RFPs and project planning phases, ensuring proposed Netgear solutions align with AV industry standards (e.g., Dante, NDI, AES67, SMPTE 2110). Act as a liaison with Product Management, providing structured feedback from the AV market to influence feature development and platform evolution. Partner with other teams to support post-sales success, including deployment validation and troubleshooting escalations. Promote Netgear’s AV-specific innovations, including pre-configured profiles, web-based UI optimizations, and API integrations with third-party control systems. Stay informed about competitive AV networking technologies and industry trends. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, AV Integration, or Networking, ideally with a focus on AV-over-IP deployments. Hands-on expertise with: IGMP Snooping & Querier behavior Multicast traffic optimization for audio and video applications VLAN, QoS, Spanning Tree, and Layer 2/3 switching fundamentals Netgear series switches or equivalent AV-focused platforms Familiarity with AV protocols and systems such as Dante, NDI, AES67, Crestron, Q-SYS, or AMX. Experience with configuration tools and scripting (e.g., CLI, JSON-based templates, AV control APIs) is a plus. Industry certifications (e.g., AVIXA CTS, Netgear, Dante Certification, or networking certifications like CCNA) are preferred. Experience supporting ProAV partners, system integrators, and event production teams is highly desirable.
