Walk-In || Cook - Central Kitchen

Chettinad Academy of Research and Education is seeking a dedicated and responsible Cook for its Central Kitchen. The ideal candidate will be someone who can ensure the smooth functioning of the kitchen, provide support and maintain discipline in a caring and professional environment. Key Responsibilities: Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and dietary guidelines, ensuring nutritional value and taste. Dietary Compliance: Collaborate with dietitians to accommodate special dietary needs, including low-sodium, diabetic, and allergen-free meals. Kitchen Hygiene: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations. Inventory Management: Monitor food supplies and assist in inventory control, ensuring freshness and minimizing waste. Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff and hospital personnel to ensure timely meal service. Record Keeping: Maintain records of food temperatures, cleaning schedules, and inventory logs as required. Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; certification in Culinary Arts or Food Service Management is a plus. Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a similar role, preferably in a hospital or institutional setting. Skills: Knowledge of dietary requirements, food safety standards, and kitchen operations. Skills & Competencies: Attention to Detail: Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines precisely. Time Management: Efficient in managing cooking schedules to meet meal service times. Communication: Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and hospital staff. Adaptability: Flexible in handling varying dietary needs and kitchen tasks. Work Environment: Schedule: Rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays.
