Role Description

Attention all video editing professionals! We are seeking a highly skilled News Video Editor to join our dynamic and fast-paced digital news platform. In this role, you will be responsible for bringing important news stories to life through your exceptional editing skills, creativity, and attention to detail. This is a full-time on-site role for a Video Editor based in Ahmedabad.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Edit video footage to create cohesive and visually compelling news segments
• Collaborate with reporters and producers to understand the vision and storytelling goals for each piece
• Review raw footage and identify the best shots to include in the final edit
• Add graphics, text, and effects to enhance storytelling and viewer engagement
• Ensure all edited videos meet the organisation’s quality and journalistic standards
• Work under tight deadlines to deliver breaking news segments in a timely manner
• Manage and organise video files and assets for easy retrieval and archival purposes
• Incorporate feedback from producers and editorial staff to refine the final product
• Stay updated with the latest video editing software and technology trends
• Ensure proper colour correction, sound mixing, and final output format for broadcast and digital platforms

Qualifications & Skills

• Skills in Video Production and Video Editing
• Proficiency in Video Color Grading and Motion Graphics
• Experience in working with Graphics
• Attention to detail and creativity
• Understanding of SEO and social media best practices for video content
• Previous experience working in a newsroom environment
• Proven experience as a video editor, preferably in a news or media setting
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Film Production, or a related field
• Experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar
