Job Description

The safety officer plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at the workplace. You will be responsible for understanding and implementing standards set by organizations like OSHA, ensuring that the workplace adheres to both local and national regulations. A strong technical knowledge of safety principles, hazard identification techniques (such as HAZOP, QRA, HIRA, JSA), and relevant regulations is essential for this role. During a Contractor Safety Management System (CSMS) audit, you will need to demonstrate your expertise in safety procedures, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance. The audit will evaluate the effectiveness of the organization's contractor safety program. Specific responsibilities during a CSMS audit include conducting inspections and audits of contractor work sites, providing safety training and guidance to contractors, investigating incidents involving contractors, enforcing safety rules, monitoring contractor performance, ensuring proper documentation of safety activities, and collaborating with other departments to promote a coordinated approach to contractor safety. This full-time, permanent position offers benefits such as provided food, leave encashment, and Provident Fund. The work schedule may include morning and rotational shifts, and a yearly bonus is also included. The work location is in person.
