Full job description Key Responsibilities: Instructional Duties: Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards. Teach a variety of subjects including Mathematics, English, Science, Social Studies, and Arts, depending on the curriculum. Utilize diverse teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Facilitate engaging classroom activities and discussions that promote active learning. Assessment and Evaluation: Design and administer assessments such as quizzes, tests, and assignments to evaluate students’ understanding and progress. Provide timely and constructive feedback on students' work and performance. Maintain accurate records of students' grades, attendance, and progress. Student Support: Offer individualized support to students who need additional help with their studies. Foster a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence. Address and manage student behaviour in a fair and constructive manner. Classroom Management: Organize and manage classroom resources and materials effectively. Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning. Implement classroom rules and routines to support a positive learning atmosphere. Curriculum Development: Collaborate with other teachers to develop and update the curriculum and instructional materials. Integrate relevant themes, projects, and cross-curricular activities to enhance student learning. Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated with the latest teaching practices and educational trends. Participate in school meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and relevant training sessions. Administrative Duties: Prepare and submit lesson plans, reports, and student assessments as required by school policies. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and areas needing improvement. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field. A teaching qualification or certification (such as B.Ed/ DLED/ NTT.) is preferred. Experience: Previous experience teaching at the primary level is desirable.
