Performance QA Engineer

We are in search of a skilled Performance QA Engineer to contribute to Qualys" next-generation Platform & Security Applications. Collaborating with a team of engineers and architects, your role will involve defining a performance test framework, creating test data at the required scale, testing against performance benchmarks, identifying scale issues, and proposing solutions. This position offers a unique opportunity to play a vital role in building Qualys" next-generation microservices-based technology platform, utilizing open-source technologies, and working on challenging and impactful projects. As a Performance QA Engineer, your responsibilities will include proficiency in Performance testing tools such as JMeter, planning and executing automated performance tests, analyzing test results to measure performance, scalability, stability, and reliability. You will also need expertise in Test Planning, Test Estimation, Test Strategy, Workload Design, Test Cases Design, Test Environment Setup, Test Data Setup, and Defect Management. Experience with Application Monitoring Tools like AppDynamics and applications such as ElasticSearch, OpenSearch, Grafana, and Kafka will be essential. Moreover, you should have hands-on experience in writing and executing performance test scenarios for complex systems, performance test simulations, analysis, tuning, and monitoring in a microservices environment. An ability to analyze performance issues in Pre-production and/or Production environments, interpret technical data, capture key metrics, and effectively communicate results to stakeholders is crucial. Proficiency in any cloud environment, Docker/Kubernetes, and analyzing CPU Utilization, Memory usage, Network usage, Garbage Collection for application performance verification will be required. Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying memory leakage, connection issues, Bottleneck problems, generating performance graphs, session reports, and relevant documentation for validation and analysis. Publishing results, providing signoff, preparing detailed status reports, monitoring defects and issues, understanding basic DB tuning, application server tuning, and common performance and scalability issues are also part of the role. To qualify for this position, you should hold a degree in Computer Science or equivalent, possess 3-5 years of experience in performance testing and test automation of multi-tier Enterprise and/or Cloud, SaaS applications. Experience in testing web applications user interfaces and RESTful web services at both functional and non-functional levels, knowledge of Java, Python, NodeJS for automation frameworks, familiarity with XML, XSD, JSON, REST, SOAP, web services APIs, and working knowledge of databases like Oracle and Cassandra are necessary.
