About The Opportunity

• Perform high-volume topical phacoemulsification cataract surgeries with excellent visual outcomes and minimal complication rates.
• Conduct comprehensive ophthalmic evaluations—slit-lamp, fundus, keratometry, biometry—to build accurate surgical plans.
• Manage pre-operative counselling and post-operative follow-ups, ensuring evidence-based medication and recovery pathways.
• Collaborate with optometrists and nursing teams to streamline theatre turnover, uphold sterilisation standards, and maintain OT audits.
• Participate in clinical governance: morbidity meetings, protocol reviews, and surgical training sessions for junior doctors.
• Drive community outreach camps, tele-consults, and referral relationships to expand access and build the practice.
  

Skills & Qualifications

• MS/DO/DNB in Ophthalmology with valid MCI/State registration.
• Minimum 2 years independent experience performing topical phacoemulsification.
• Proven cataract surgery complication rate within accepted international benchmarks.
• Competence in IOL power calculations, biometry, and toric/multifocal lens selection.
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient counselling and team coordination.
  

Preferred

• Fellowship in Phaco or Cataract & Refractive Surgery.
• Exposure to LASIK, SMILE, or other refractive procedures.
• Ability to interpret OCT, specular microscopy, and corneal topography.
