Position Summary Engineers in this role will design and develop ROS2-based systems used in EyeROV marine robotics products and solutions. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to ensure the system design meets requirements, and you will be responsible for implementing and testing software systems that interface with our robot platforms. This position requires hands-on development work both in the lab and on-site to tackle technical challenges and improve product performance and reliability. Key Responsibilities: Development of robotics system blocks using ROS2 and other suitable packages Development of autonomous navigation systems incorporating features such as collision/obstacle avoidance, path planning, SLAM, etc Independently develop technical solutions for complex problems using strong logical thinking and technical skills Identify suitable sensors, actuators, and other payloads and evaluate their compatibility for integration with the EyeROV’s robotic platforms Integration of a variety of sensors, actuators, and other payloads with ROS2-based robotic systems Contribute to the development of hardware and firmware of embedded robotic systems Enhance the performance and field reliability of EyeROV’s products. Provide technical training, documentation and support to internal and external users Mandatory Skills : Strong problem-solving skills and logical thinking abilities. Good programming knowledge in C++ (preferably) and Python. Experience in developing robotics systems using ROS2. (ROS experience can also be considered) Strong understanding of communication protocols like UART, SPI, I2C, RS232, RS422, RS485, Ethernet etc Ability to understand technical documentation of devices, especially APIs and communication protocols. Working knowledge of Linux shell scripting Working knowledge of networking and protocols like TCP/UDP Excellent documentation skills, including writing clear and concise code and technical documents. Excellent communication skills Ability to work independently Preferrable Skills Knowledge in Control Systems. Solid understanding of hardware components and systems. Familiarity with version control tools such as Git Good understanding of electro-mechanical systems Ability to coordinate with the multidisciplinary teams and develop solutions.
