Manager Sourcing (Knitwear) - Tiruppur

Role & responsibilities

• Sourcing New Vendors:

  Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers or manufacturers. Evaluate vendors based on criteria such as quality, capacity, and pricing to expand the supplier base.

• Costing and Negotiation:

  Analyze cost structures and negotiate favorable terms and prices with vendors to ensure competitive pricing and maintain profit margins.

• Team management:

  Able to lead and handle orders independently.
• Handling Factories from Development to Shipment: Oversee the entire production process, including product development, manufacturing, and shipping. Ensure adherence to quality standards, timelines, and cost parameters throughout.

• Time & Action / Troubleshooting

  : Implement effective project management techniques to track progress, identify bottlenecks, and resolve issues promptly. Maintain a proactive approach to troubleshooting to ensure timely delivery of goods.

• Setting up Weekly/Monthly Targets:

  Establish clear and achievable goals and milestones for vendors aligned with organizational objectives. Monitor progress regularly and provide necessary support to ensure targets are met.

• Vendor Performance Report:

  Evaluate vendor performance based on predefined metrics such as quality, delivery reliability, and responsiveness. Generate regular reports to assess performance, identify improvement areas, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Preferred candidate profile

• 8+ years of experience in apparel (Garment) sourcing, preferably in knits (T-shirts/sweatshirts)
• Strong vendor network in Tiruppur cluster
• Technical knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and trims
• Strong negotiation, costing, and planning skills
• Experience in managing timelines and ensuring on-time deliveries
• Ability to handle multiple styles and factories at a time
• Candidates from leading fashion/apparel brands or export houses preferred.
