Job Description

Librarian Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and organize library materials (books, digital resources, media).
Assist students and staff in locating and using library resources.
Teach research and information literacy skills to students.
Promote a love of reading through book clubs, author visits, reading challenges, etc.
Develop and maintain a diverse, current, and relevant library collection.
Collaborate with teachers to support curriculum goals and project-based learning.
Manage library budget, acquisitions, and cataloging systems.
Supervise students in the library and ensure a welcoming, inclusive environment.
Oversee library technology, including databases and research tools.
Stay updated with trends in education, literature, and library media.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Education, or related field (required).
Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or School Library Media (preferred).
State certification or licensure as a School Librarian (if applicable).
Experience working with children or young adults in an educational setting.
Strong knowledge of children’s and young adult literature.
Familiarity with library software and digital media platforms.
Excellent organizational, communication, and technology skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
