Junior Backend Developer

As a Junior Backend Developer at our ed-tech startup focused on building a specialized learning platform for healthcare professionals, you will play a pivotal role in creating and optimizing backend services using a Python-based stack. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work with various technologies and contribute significantly to the development of a robust platform, particularly in areas such as authentication, API management, and data handling. We are seeking a Junior Backend Developer with 2-3 years of experience to join our team and contribute to building and maintaining the core backend architecture of our platform. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around utilizing Python, PostgreSQL or MongoDB for data management, and AWS for cloud infrastructure. Proficiency in Docker, Git, and OAuth for secure authentication is essential for this role, and you will have the chance to make a meaningful impact within a startup environment. Your key responsibilities will include developing, deploying, and maintaining RESTful APIs for both mobile and web applications, writing efficient and clean code in Python (and potentially Golang), and collaborating in code reviews. You will also work with PostgreSQL or MongoDB to manage and optimize data storage, utilize Docker for containerization to ensure efficient deployment and scalability, and implement secure user authentication and authorization using OAuth. Additionally, you will contribute to CI/CD processes, troubleshoot performance issues, and optimize backend systems to enhance the overall user experience. Furthermore, you will be responsible for deploying services on AWS to support a reliable and secure infrastructure. To be successful in this role, you should possess 2-3 years of backend development experience, demonstrate solid skills in Python with knowledge of frameworks like Django or Flask, have experience with PostgreSQL or MongoDB, be proficient in Git for managing source code, understand Docker for developing and running applications in containers, and have experience with OAuth for secure user authentication. Additionally, you should be skilled in creating and managing RESTful APIs.
