Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Engineer to join our Engineering team, with a specialized focus on component selection for chillers and heat pump systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in thermodynamics and HVAC design, with hands-on experience in selecting critical system components such as compressors, heat exchangers, valves, and controls. You will play a key role in ensuring our systems meet technical, regulatory, and efficiency standards. Key Responsibilities: Select and size key HVAC components including compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, refrigerants, and controls for chillers and heat pumps. Prepare technical specifications, selection reports, and bills of materials (BOMs) in alignment with project requirements. Utilize HVAC design and selection software such as Bitzer, Unilab, or OEM-specific tools for simulations and performance calculations. Evaluate and validate component offerings from vendors and manufacturers to ensure compliance with engineering standards. Collaborate with R&D and product development teams during prototyping, testing, and validation phases. Ensure system design adheres to relevant standards (ASHRAE, AHRI, ISHRAE) and regulatory guidelines. Work closely with internal departments including sales, procurement, and production for end-to-end project execution. Develop and maintain accurate technical documentation, including datasheets, manuals, and submittals. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong understanding of HVAC systems, thermodynamic cycles, and refrigeration principles Proficient in the use of HVAC design and simulation software (e.g., Bitzer, Unilab) Knowledge of refrigerants and their impact on system design and performance Ability to optimize component selection for energy efficiency and system reliability Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Strong documentation and reporting abilities Familiarity with green building standards and energy efficiency regulations is a plus Preferred Experience: Experience working with HVAC OEMs or system integrators Hands-on involvement in the design and development of packaged chillers, VRFs, or heat pump systems Exposure to international HVAC markets and standards
