Job Description


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Organize and lead staff ensuring a fully efficient payroll operation.Verify and maintain compliance and tax requirements.Keep abreast of the one region's current and changing payroll and employment tax laws end to end.Review and audit current processes to ensure compliance, while recommending and implementing changes where needed.Lead the daily/monthly/quarterly salary reconciliations and tax filing requirements, including year-end reporting and compliances.To provide cutting edge variance analysis on the payroll for management review and auditsTo play leading role in transforming payroll function thru process simplification, digitization and automationResearch, determine root cause and resolve incoming tax noticesLead and perform audits of payroll and employment tax data before payroll completion while following all established controlsComplete post payroll audits and reporting, prepare metrics and track errors using technology and reporting toolsLead the internal or external audits and review of records, worker’s compensation, tax filings, SOX, and other related documentationEvaluate federal, state and local tax treatment of employee fringe benefits, executive compensation and related impactsPartner closely with various organizational partners to ensure accurate GL & tax reportingRespond to complex payroll related inquiries from employees and/or key stakeholdersResearch and produce complex reports which may require in-depth analysisLead work and provide direction for transitions in mergers, acquisitions, and divestituresCommunicate effectively with various levels of management to ensure a high level of customer support and positive customer interactionsEnsuring the department’s ability to meet all company deadlines and annual performance goals Develop, maintain and improve payroll processes, employment tax processes, and internal controls to preserve the quality, efficiency and overall effectiveness of all payroll functions while ensuring regulatory complianceManage vendors and system providers including compliance with service level agreementsResponsible for tracking and testing legislative/regulatory changes, application enhancements, and system modificationsManage, coach and develop team members Conduct ongoing training for payroll staff to ensure productivity and knowledge of overall processes are maintained and improvedKey things needed for the role.Qualification – B.Com, ICWA / CAExperience – 15+ YearsLocation – HyderabadWorking in manager capacityExperience in handling one or more geo payroll end to end.Experience in payroll accounting and reconciliation.Experience in payroll integration project and automation.Experience in payroll compliances like payroll taxes, overtime or leave rules adherence etc.Experience in global payroll will be preferred.Teamwork and proactive resolution will be key to success in the role.
